The Gallery House is situated on an imagined suburban landscape that is divided into lots for each student to design.

The design involves studying the topography and existing trees, the development of a procession from the street into the house, a separation of public and private, and servant versus serve spaces. This design, in particular, was greatly influenced by the works of Kazuyo Sejima.

The program includes a gallery, three Diebenkorn sculptures in the landscape, at least one bedroom and bathroom, library, office, kitchen, and living room.
