Situated due North of downtown Fort Worth near the historic Stockyards, the Marine Theatre – a historical building- finds itself as the centerpiece to the Artes de La Rosa Gallery. This facility is a center for local cultural expression, and is currently in dire need of more space for its many events as well as a means to resolve its existing problems within the context of design.

Since the Marine Theatre is considered a historical building by the city of Fort Worth, this part of the Artes de la Rosa complex cannot be altered. The main redesign manifests its potential by looking at the adjacent infill buildings that are also owned by Artes de la Rosa.

The program includes a gallery and reception, dressing rooms, prop and costume shops, offices with a breakroom, public and private restrooms, classrooms, and a library.

Initial collaging exercise done on top of site. The idea behind these exercises is to generate ideas one would normally not think of.
